Welcome

We are The Recipe House, with over 50 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry, working and teaching, we have created our own Bespoke Dining Company.

Sometimes you just don't want to be the one stuck in the kitchen, maybe its that important dinner where everything has to be just perfect and you don't want to miss any of the conversations happening at the dining table, maybe it's a large group and you're not confident in cooking for that many people or the menu is challenging and beyond what you are comfortable with or maybe you just fancy good, honest home cooked food but don't have the time or inclination to cook.

That's where the Recipe House comes in, we will come to your house to cook for you.  We have some of our favourite menus for you to look at for inspiration, but they are only a suggestion and we would be delighted to sit down with you and plan your perfect menu. We will be happy to deliver your food to you and leave you to finish and serve, or indeed we can offer a full serviced dining experience, which will include all the washing up!  We offer a wide range of standard menus including a BBQ Menu, and a range of menus to suit a range of taste's and budgets as well as afternoon tea and an additional temptation.

We specialise in private dining for between 4 and 30 people, but we will be delighted to provide a catering service for Hen Parties, Bachelor Parties, Birthday and Anniversary Celebrations, Engagement and small Weddings, and Wakes, in your own home/venue.

Learn To Cook

Come in and look through our recipes and menus, all our recipes are firm family favourites and ones that we have been enjoying over many years, some will be our Mother’s recipes, some  originating from ‘Good Housekeeping’ or the like, but adapted and tweaked over generations and some will be from scraps of paper with a hand written recipe on them either way, we would like to share these precious, delicious pieces of nostalgia with you.

If , however, you find a recipe that you like, or indeed an entire menu and you don’t feel that you have the skills or confidence to tackle it alone, we can come and guide you through the processes, teaching you the practical skills, providing advice on the ingredients and equipment you’ll need.  This could be a one to one session, or with a group of friends, depending on the space available.  We will also be very happy to run children’s sessions, where children can learn about tastes, textures, fruit and vegetables, nutrition and simple baking/cooking skills.  Everyone will get his or her own Recipe House Apron to keep!  Please contact us to book a fun and informative session.

About Us

It has been our pleasure to cook the Friday night suppers at Lee-on-the-Solent Sailing Club (LOSSC) for the past 3 years. We provide freshly prepared and cooked meals each week for 15-50 members. All our food is freshly prepared from scratch and our ingredients are all locally sourced where possible.  We also provide catering for their special celebrations such as, Trafalgar Night, Burns Night, as well as a number of celebratory dinners throughout the year.

We have known each other for over 35 years, since meeting at Highbury Catering College in the late 1970s, in those days the College had 40 Lecturers, all specialists in their field, we were very fortunate to be taught to the highest levels in classical Haute Cuisine.

We were both total swats and left after 3 years with a string of City & Guilds and a Professional Diploma in Cookery and a lifelong friendship.  We went our separate ways of course and both headed straight for the hotel trade, Angela to London and Jane to the New Forest.
